Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you repair batons?
A: Yes. If the shaft is broken, I can drill out the old shaft and replace it with a new one. The fee for this service is $59. The process is actually more difficult than building a new baton, but I realize that sometimes people grow attached to their baton and want it repaired despite the cost. Sometimes, the handle is damaged beyond repair during the process of removing the old shaft, but if that happens I could use the handle as a model to build you a new baton. If the brass counterbalance ever comes loose, I will install a new one for you free of charge. Due to the variance in shaft diameters and manufacturing techniques, I generally do not repair batons built by other companies.
Q: Can you duplicate my current favorite baton?
A: Yes. I can make the best, most accurate copy if you mail the baton to me. However, if you don’t want to temporarily part with your favorite baton, a nice clear photocopy is almost as good. If you cannot make a photocopy, a digital photo of the handle next to a ruler is sufficient for me to make a pretty good reproduction of your baton. Due to the extra time and care needed to duplicate a baton, a $15 charge will be added to the cost of the baton.
Q: When will I get my baton?
A: “In Stock” batons generally ship within 3 business days. Custom ordered batons usually ship in 5 – 10 business days but the waiting list in the Fall can grow to 3-4 weeks.
Domestic shipping estimates:
· UPS Ground 5-7 days
· UPS 2nd Day Air 2-3 days
Unless there is a delay in customs, international shipping typically takes approximately 10 days to 2 weeks.
Q: What if I don’t like my new baton?
A: Your satisfaction is my goal. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your baton, you may return or exchange it within 60 days of your purchase. Unless there is a mistake with the engraving, batons that have been engraved cannot be returned or exchanged.
